# stat-api — Sports Data

This MCP server gives agents a catalog of sports data and tools to query NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, PGA, DFS, and prediction markets. Browse the catalog without a key; querying data requires a free API key.

## What it does

An agent can first inspect the available leagues and tables, then check a table’s fields and supported filters. With an API key, it can query rows with filters and pagination, search player names, look up games on a date, and find Kalshi or Polymarket contracts linked to a game. Other tools fetch a single record or run GraphQL queries that connect games, teams, players, and odds.

The server uses HTTP at `https://api.stat-api.com/mcp`. Catalog tools work without credentials, but data queries need a free API key. In Claude Code, add the server with `claude mcp add --transport http sports-data https://api.stat-api.com/mcp`; configure `Authorization: Bearer <YOUR_API_KEY>` to access the data tools.
