# ssave.cc — TikTok & Instagram Downloader

## What it does

The server runs locally via stdio and queries the Ssave Open API at `https://api.ssave.cc`. It provides three distinct tools: `extract_media` checks post URLs and generates short-lived tokens valid for 5–15 minutes, `download_media` streams content locally, and `get_thumbnail` proxies preview images.

Downloaded media lands in `~/Downloads/ssave/` unless specified otherwise. You can redirect output via the `output_dir` tool argument or the `SSAVE_OUTPUT_DIR` environment variable.

The unpaid tier enforces a strict daily IP limit of 10 extraction calls and 50 media downloads based on UTC time. Because of this cap, automated bulk scraping is out of the question.

## Requirements
- Needs: Node.js (commands run via npx)
- Environment variables: `YOUR_API_KEY` — keys and tokens: ask the human for the values, never commit them or put them in shared files.
