## What it does

Sessionplan is a browser-based planner that lays out a session on an interactive timeline. You move blocks around, start times and durations recalculate on the spot, and a live mode keeps you on track while the session runs. Custom block categories, reusable templates and parallel lanes with their own facilitators are all part of it.

The MCP server exposes that planner to your coding agent over HTTP at `https://sessionplan.de/mcp/`. Claude, Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot and Gemini CLI can drive plans directly. By default everything stays in the browser and no account is required; plans travel as snapshot links or as JSON and PDF exports.

Self-hosters who want persistent Dynamic Links need PHP ≥ 7.4. The endpoint `data/sessions.php` stores one JSON file per session in the directory named by `SP_SESSIONS_DIR`, and that directory has to sit outside the webroot. Without a PHP runtime the planner still works locally and shares plans through URL fragments or JSON export.

## Requirements
- Remote server: `https://sessionplan.de/mcp/`

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

**Platform CLI: remote server**
```bash
claude mcp add --transport http sessionplan https://sessionplan.de/mcp/
```

### Codex

**Platform CLI: remote server**
```bash
codex mcp add sessionplan --url https://sessionplan.de/mcp/
```

### Cursor

**Config file**
File `.cursor/mcp.json`:
```json
{
    "mcpServers": {
        "sessionplan": {
            "url": "https://sessionplan.de/mcp/"
        }
    }
}
```

### GitHub Copilot

**Config file**
File `.vscode/mcp.json`:
```json
{
    "servers": {
        "sessionplan": {
            "type": "http",
            "url": "https://sessionplan.de/mcp/"
        }
    }
}
```

### Gemini CLI

**Platform CLI: remote server**
```bash
gemini mcp add -t http sessionplan https://sessionplan.de/mcp/
```

## When to use it
- lay out a workshop agenda on a timeline
- recalculate start times and durations
- run a session against the plan in live mode
- split parallel lanes with their own facilitators
- export a plan to JSON or PDF

## Example prompts
- Build a 3-hour training agenda: warm-up, two 40-minute blocks, one break.
- Add a parallel lane with its own facilitator and recalculate the timing.
- Export the current plan as JSON.
