## What it does

Session Steward reads the local `~/.codex` and `~/.claude` folders. Filter sessions by activity, workspace, archive status, name, or ID, then inspect a timeline of messages, file changes, and commands. It can also show recognized session storage and token use.

Before deleting, the server builds a plan of related records for you to review and confirm. It makes a local recovery backup, checks the result, and leaves storage it cannot identify untouched. Node.js 24.15 or newer is required. The MCP process runs locally, but your client may send session details—including messages and workspace paths—to its AI provider.
