Connect Claude Code to ServiceNow so an agent can search records and work with table data. The server can route requests across multiple instances.

## What it does

The server gives an agent tools for ServiceNow, including general table operations, natural-language search, and specialized actions. It discovers table structures and relationships at runtime. Multiple instances can be connected, with requests routed per instance; each needs REST API access and valid credentials.

Authentication options include OAuth 2.0 and Basic Auth. The server also supports batch operations and read-only MCP resources. Each instance needs working API access and credentials, so those must be ready before the connection can work. Setup uses `npx` and passes the instance URL, username, and password to the server.

## Requirements
- Needs: Node.js (commands run via npx)
- Environment variables: `SERVICENOW_INSTANCE_URL`, `SERVICENOW_USERNAME`, `SERVICENOW_PASSWORD`, `SERVICENOW_AUTH_TYPE`, `SERVICENOW_INSTANCE` — keys and tokens: ask the human for the values, never commit them or put them in shared files.
- Works with: ServiceNow

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

**Platform CLI**
```bash
claude mcp add --env SERVICENOW_INSTANCE_URL=<SERVICENOW_INSTANCE_URL> --env SERVICENOW_USERNAME=<SERVICENOW_USERNAME> --env SERVICENOW_PASSWORD=<SERVICENOW_PASSWORD> --env SERVICENOW_AUTH_TYPE=<SERVICENOW_AUTH_TYPE> --env SERVICENOW_INSTANCE=<SERVICENOW_INSTANCE> --transport stdio servicenow-nodejs -- npx -y servicenow-mcp-server
```
Replace <…> with your own values

### Codex

**Platform CLI**
```bash
codex mcp add servicenow-nodejs --env SERVICENOW_INSTANCE_URL=<SERVICENOW_INSTANCE_URL> --env SERVICENOW_USERNAME=<SERVICENOW_USERNAME> --env SERVICENOW_PASSWORD=<SERVICENOW_PASSWORD> --env SERVICENOW_AUTH_TYPE=<SERVICENOW_AUTH_TYPE> --env SERVICENOW_INSTANCE=<SERVICENOW_INSTANCE> -- npx -y servicenow-mcp-server
