## What it does

\`sdk` adds a governance layer for agents that take consequential actions. It can retain agent memory, handle payment flows, enforce budget rules, request human approval, calculate agent reputation, and produce audit evidence. The layer sits between an agent runtime and the payment rail.

The server covers actions such as settling a payment or changing infrastructure. It starts with `npx -y @mnemopay/sdk`, while persistent storage can be configured with `MNEMOPAY_PERSIST_DIR`. `MNEMOPAY_API_KEY` is required for the server to start.

The SDK includes rails for Stripe, Paystack, Lightning, x402, and Google AP2. It also provides a hash-linked audit chain and audit bundles for EU AI Act Article 12. The available behavior depends on the environment variables passed to the MCP server.

## Requirements
- Needs: Node.js (commands run via npx)
- Environment variables: `MNEMOPAY_API_KEY`, `MNEMOPAY_PERSIST_DIR` — keys and tokens: ask the human for the values, never commit them or put them in shared files.
