## What it does

This server hands the assistant the tools to capture a screen, a single window, an area, a simulator or a live web page. The take can then be dressed up: wallpapers, device and photo mockups, auto-zoom, camera motion, animated titles. Clips you already have open the same way and get the same treatment. Output lands as mp4, mov, gif or webp.

There is no binary inside the bundle. `screenify.mcpb` is a manifest, a launcher and an icon; the real work is done by the CLI that ships with the app. So Screenify Studio 2.2.0 or newer has to be on the Mac first. The repo is MIT, the app itself is proprietary — that split matters if you plan to redistribute anything.

Easiest registration runs from the app: Settings → AI Assistants → Connect AI assistants writes the server into every client it finds. From a shell, run `screenify mcp install`. Recordings and exports stay in your folders and the server keeps no telemetry. Two features touch the network, and only on request: web capture fetches the URL you name, and optional AI-director effects call the provider tied to your own API key.

Clients that read the MCP registry can pull it as `studio.screenify/screenify`.
