## What it does

This MCP server links language models directly to Statistics Sweden (SCB) public data. It exposes more than 1,200 statistical tables across 312 Swedish regions. Datasets cover population shifts, national accounts, employment, and greenhouse gas metrics. Records span from the 1950s up to November 2025.

Built-in tools resolve administrative region codes and handle fuzzy spelling. Typing "Goteborg" without diacritics still resolves to Göteborg code 1480. Search runs in Swedish by default. Because of this Swedish baseline, searching directly in Swedish yields better table matches than English keywords.

The underlying API enforces a rate limit of 30 requests per 10 seconds. Heavy automated scraping will hit this threshold quickly. The server runs either locally via Node.js or through a hosted HTTP endpoint.
