# Scaleway MCP server

Exposes Scaleway CLI commands as Model Context Protocol tools over stdio. Useful for managing Scaleway cloud instances and IAM directly inside AI assistants.

## What it does

The server runs via `scw mcp server serve` or a Docker container, publishing CLI functionality over standard I/O. It maps CLI commands to MCP tools following the `namespace_resource_verb` pattern. Examples include `instance_server_list` and `iam_user_list`.

Configuration is inherited from standard CLI settings. It reads `~/.config/scw/config.yaml`, `$SCW_CONFIG_PATH`, or environment variables such as `SCW_ACCESS_KEY` and `SCW_SECRET_KEY`. Without configured credentials, API calls will fail. Under the hood, Go code converts arguments into JSON Schema representations, and setting `SCW_DEBUG=true` enables debug logging.

## Requirements
- Needs: Docker

    "mcpServers": {
        "mcp": {
            "command": "docker",
            "args": [
                "run",
                "-i",

                "scaleway/cli:2.65.1"
            ]
        }
    }
}
```
### GitHub Copilot
            ]
        }
    }
}
```

### Gemini CLI

**Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini mcp add mcp docker run -i --rm scaleway/cli:2.65.1
```

## When to use it
- list active virtual instances in a Scaleway account
- query IAM users and permissions without leaving the assistant
- execute Scaleway cloud management operations through AI tools

## Example prompts
- Check my active servers using `instance_server_list`
- Show the organization users via `iam_user_list`
- Inspect current Scaleway resources configured for this project
