## What it does

samihalawa-whatsapp-go-mcp connects an MCP client with WhatsApp through a QR-code login. Once the session is connected, an agent can send a text message, image, link, or location from a prompt. That makes it suitable for message flows started inside Claude Code, Codex, or another supported client.

The server is added as a remote HTTP MCP endpoint. In Claude Code, the setup uses `https://server.smithery.ai/@samihalawa/whatsapp-go-mcp/mcp`. Add the server first, complete the WhatsApp connection step, and scan the QR code when prompted. Messaging will not start until that QR scan is completed.

Supported clients include Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Windsurf (Devin Desktop), Cline, Zed, and Gemini CLI. Installation differs by client: Claude Code uses `claude mcp add`, while Cursor and GitHub Copilot use a JSON configuration.
