## What it does

This server connects AI assistants to federal procurement records through 20 specialized tools. It handles checks for entity registrations and vendor exclusions.

The toolset also retrieves procurement opportunities, awarded contracts, and subawards. Running the package locally via `uvx` requires setting the `SAM_API_KEY` environment variable. Alternatively, you can point your client directly to the hosted HTTP endpoint.

## Requirements
- Needs: Python and uv (commands run via uvx)
- Remote server: `https://sam.1102tools.com/mcp`
- Environment variables: `SAM_API_KEY` — keys and tokens: ask the human for the values, never commit them or put them in shared files.
