# Rithmo

A read-only MCP server that lets an agent ask what the team decided about a task and learn when that decision no longer holds.

## What it does

Rithmo keeps a record of decisions. The server hands that record to your tools; it never acts inside your systems. Before taking a step, an agent asks what was actually decided about X and gets back the live answer with owner, status, source and rationale.

Three outcomes are possible. `found` comes from the commitment ledger, `found_record` from the subject record, `no_record` means nothing is on file. Treating the first two as one case breaks things: a `found_record` can carry a null `currentAnswer`, so there is nothing to act on. A refusal can also be typed — a decision superseded by a newer one comes back with `safe_to_proceed: false`. A second tool, `list_decision_changes`, drains a cursor-based feed of decisions that changed state.

Two values go into `.env`: the MCP endpoint of a Rithmo instance and a per-organization service token scoped to `mcp:read`. The token is read-only and tied to one org. Note the `surface` field in the examples: when Rithmo does not observe that system, a miss returns `not_observed` rather than `no_record`, because absence on an unobserved surface is unknown, not a no.

## Requirements
- Remote server: `https://app.rithmo.ai/api/mcp`

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

**Platform CLI: remote server**
```bash
claude mcp add --transport http rithmo https://app.rithmo.ai/api/mcp
```

### Codex

**Platform CLI: remote server**
```bash
codex mcp add rithmo --url https://app.rithmo.ai/api/mcp
```

### Cursor

**Config file**
File `.cursor/mcp.json`:
```json
{
    "mcpServers": {
        "rithmo": {
            "url": "https://app.rithmo.ai/api/mcp"
        }
    }
}
```

### GitHub Copilot

**Config file**
File `.vscode/mcp.json`:
```json
{
    "servers": {
        "rithmo": {
            "type": "http",
            "url": "https://app.rithmo.ai/api/mcp"
        }
    }
}
```

### Gemini CLI

**Platform CLI: remote server**
```bash
gemini mcp add -t http rithmo https://app.rithmo.ai/api/mcp
```

## When to use it
- find out what the team decided before the agent acts
- tell a missing decision apart from an unobserved system
- catch a decision that was superseded and stop acting on the old premise
- pull owner, due date and rationale along with the answer
- poll a cursor feed of decision changes

## Example prompts
- Ask Rithmo what we decided about the GitHub integration and show the owner and status
- Check with Rithmo whether the billing migration decision was superseded before doing anything
- Pull the decision changes from Rithmo since the last cursor
