## What it does

The server passes tool requests from an AI client to a local Revit add-in. That add-in runs the matching workflow through the Revit API. Example tasks include placing dimensions and checking model elements.

The npm package `@shuotao/revit-mcp-server` provides the Node.js bridge; it does not replace the Revit add-in. Build and deploy the add-in separately, then enable the MCP service in Revit. The listed requirements are Windows 10 or later and Autodesk Revit 2022–2026. Revit 2022–2024 uses .NET Framework 4.8, while Revit 2025–2026 uses .NET 8. Without the add-in, the npm package cannot carry out actions in Revit.

## Requirements
