# RemembrallMCP

## What it does

RemembrallMCP runs on Rust and builds a dependency map across nine languages using tree-sitter. It indexes methods alongside individual struct fields. When checking what a refactor might break, the agent queries `remembrall_impact` instead of scanning dozens of files. The lookup takes under ten milliseconds.

Persistent memory preserves decisions between agent sessions. Architecture choices and notes live in PostgreSQL. The agent retrieves them with hybrid semantic and full-text search, keeping context across reboots.

Running the server without Docker or a configured PostgreSQL 16 instance with `pgvector` will fail immediately. Connecting an MCP client requires passing the `DATABASE_URL` environment variable, while GitHub ingestion requires the authenticated `gh` CLI.

## Requirements
- Needs: Node.js (commands run via npx)
- Environment variables: `DATABASE_URL` — keys and tokens: ask the human for the values, never commit them or put them in shared files.
