## What it does

Quicknode’s MCP server connects an agent with blockchain infrastructure for Web3 projects. It can guide the setup of an application by selecting a chain, architecture, technology stack, and data layer. The project can also be planned with a production posture, while Quicknode infrastructure remains optional.

The server uses the remote endpoint `https://mcp.quicknode.com/mcp`. It is available for Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Windsurf (Devin Desktop), Cline, Zed, and Gemini CLI. Claude Code commands point to the same endpoint but use two names, `mcp` and `quicknode-mcp`, so they create two server entries. In Codex, the `build-web3` plugin loads the bundled MCP server through its plugin configuration.

## Requirements
- Remote server: `https://mcp.quicknode.com/mcp`

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

**Platform CLI: remote server**
```bash
claude mcp add --transport http mcp https://mcp.quicknode.com/mcp
```

### Codex

**Platform CLI: remote server**
```bash
codex mcp add quicknode-mcp --url https://mcp.quicknode.com/mcp
```

### Cursor

**Config file**
File `.cursor/mcp.json`:
```json
{
    "mcpServers": {
        "quicknode-mcp": {
            "url": "https://mcp.quicknode.com/mcp"
        }
    }
}
```

### GitHub Copilot

**Config file**
File `.vscode/mcp.json`:
```json
{
    "servers": {
        "quicknode-mcp": {
            "type": "http",
            "url": "https://mcp.quicknode.com/mcp"
        }
    }
}
```

### Gemini CLI

**Platform CLI: remote server**
```bash
gemini mcp add -t http quicknode-mcp https://mcp.quicknode.com/mcp
```

## When to use it
- connect an agent to blockchain infrastructure
- choose a chain and architecture for a Web3 app
- select the project stack and data layer
- plan a Web3 project with a production posture

## Example prompts
- Choose a blockchain network and architecture for my Web3 application.
- Recommend a stack and data layer for this project.
- Work out which Quicknode infrastructure to connect for the selected chain.
