Generate and review legal policies against what an application’s code does. Useful when policy disclosures need to track the project as it changes.

## What it does

PolicyForge MCP gives a coding agent tools to create and maintain legal policies using a project scan. It can compare a policy’s disclosures with the scanned code, check for changes since the policy was generated, and update or restore a document version.

The server can also create HIPAA business associate agreements, a Pro feature. Compliance audits and freshness checks do not use generation quota; generating or regenerating a policy does. Check remaining usage with `get_usage` before requesting several documents. Connect over HTTP or run the local `npx` process with a `POLICYFORGE_API_KEY`.

## Requirements
- Needs: Node.js (commands run via npx)
- Remote server: `https://policyforge.co/api/mcp`
- Environment variables: `POLICYFORGE_API_KEY` — keys and tokens: ask the human for the values, never commit them or put them in shared files.

## When to use it
- create a privacy policy from an application’s code
- compare policy disclosures with a project scan
- detect code changes since policy generation
- revise a policy or restore an earlier version

## Example prompts
- Create a privacy policy for this project based on its code.
- Check whether this policy covers the data the application handles.
- Compare the current code with the policy’s stored manifest and report changes.
