## What it does

Under the hood it talks to the Planfix REST API. The toolset covers tasks (`get_tasks`, `get_task`, `create_task`, `update_task`), CRM records (`get_contacts`, `get_contact`, `create_contact`, `update_contact`), projects, comments, employees, directories and custom fields. Two skills ship alongside: `skill-my-tasks` pulls today's and overdue items, `skill-create-task` walks through creating a task with a project picked.

Start it with `npx -y @theyahia/planfix-mcp`. Two variables are mandatory. `PLANFIX_API_KEY` comes from Account management → API access → REST API. `PLANFIX_ACCOUNT` is the subdomain, the `mycompany` part of `mycompany.planfix.com`. Skip the subdomain and nothing connects, since the REST API has no shared host. Regional installations take an optional `PLANFIX_HOST`, defaulting to `planfix.com`.

A Streamable HTTP mode exists: `--http 8080` serves `http://localhost:8080/mcp` with a health check at `http://localhost:8080/health`. Two gaps matter. The `priority` field in `create_task` goes through as a raw string and its accepted values were never checked against the live API. Uploading a local file and time tracking are absent; only `upload_file_from_url` takes a direct link.

## Requirements
- Needs: Node.js (commands run via npx)
- Environment variables: `PLANFIX_TOKEN` — keys and tokens: ask the human for the values, never commit them or put them in shared files.

## When to use it
- assign a task to a teammate without opening the Planfix UI
- list today's and overdue tasks in one shot
- look up an assignee's ID by name before creating a task
- post a comment on a task by its number
- add a contact or company to the CRM while chatting with the agent
