## What it does

The server connects AI clients to Pixoo-64, 16, and 32 hardware. It provides eight tools and four resources. Agents can scan local IP addresses through Divoom discovery, inspect device status, and adjust hardware brightness or active channels.

Visual rendering covers multiple approaches. Dedicated text tooling switches between three built-in fonts and scales words down to avoid clipping. The scene composer stacks up to 50 distinct layers, combining shapes, sparklines, images, and sprites. An integrated headless browser renders SVG, Canvas, and HTML markups frame by frame.

Push calls fail immediately if the client cannot reach the panel IP on the local network.

## Requirements
- Needs: Node.js (commands run via npx)
- Environment variables: `PIXOO_IP`, `PIXOO_SIZE`, `PIXOO_OUTPUT_DIR`, `PIXOO_PUSH_MIN_INTERVAL_MS`, `PIXOO_SERVE_HOST`, `PIXOO_SERVE_PORT`, `PIXOO_BROWSER_PATH`, `PIXOO_HTML_ENABLED`, `MCP_LOG_LEVEL`, `MCP_TRANSPORT_TYPE` — keys and tokens: ask the human for the values, never commit them or put them in shared files.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

**Platform CLI**
```bash
claude mcp add --env PIXOO_IP=<PIXOO_IP> --env PIXOO_SIZE=<PIXOO_SIZE> --env PIXOO_OUTPUT_DIR=<PIXOO_OUTPUT_DIR> --env PIXOO_PUSH_MIN_INTERVAL_MS=<PIXOO_PUSH_MIN_INTERVAL_MS> --env PIXOO_SERVE_HOST=<PIXOO_SERVE_HOST> --transport stdio pixoo-mcp-server -- npx -y @cyanheads/pixoo-mcp-server
```
Replace <…> with your own values. 9 more environment variables are in the server README

### Codex

**Platform CLI**
```bash
codex mcp add pixoo-mcp-server --env PIXOO_IP=<PIXOO_IP> --env PIXOO_SIZE=<PIXOO_SIZE> --env PIXOO_OUTPUT_DIR=<PIXOO_OUTPUT_DIR> --env PIXOO_PUSH_MIN_INTERVAL_MS=<PIXOO_PUSH_MIN_INTERVAL_MS> --env PIXOO_SERVE_HOST=<PIXOO_SERVE_HOST> -- npx -y @cyanheads/pixoo-mcp-server
## When to use it
- push real-time project metrics to a physical LED matrix
- format text with automatic font scaling and scrolling
- render HTML, SVG, and Canvas graphics for a 64x64 screen
- adjust brightness, channels, and clock faces remotely
## Example prompts
- Display the current build status on my Pixoo screen using the neon theme
- Show a clock on the LED matrix with numerals font at 60 percent brightness
- Build a dashboard scene with sparkline and text using `pixoo_compose_scene`
