## What it does

PipesHub connects AI assistants to internal company knowledge bases. It provides MCP tools like `pipeshub_search` and `pipeshub_get_record_content` to locate entries and inspect text. Other available actions handle file downloads via `pipeshub_download_record`, directory discovery, data sources listing, and direct chat interactions.

Clients connect over Streamable HTTP at the `/mcp` path or via stdio execution. Authentication relies on bearer tokens or static OAuth with permission scopes. Self-hosted instances return HTTP 500 errors on search operations until an LLM is configured in the web interface.

## Requirements
- Needs: Node.js (commands run via npx)
- Remote server: `https://{instance_host}/mcp`
- Environment variables: `PIPESHUB_MCP_CHAT` — keys and tokens: ask the human for the values, never commit them or put them in shared files.
