## What it does

Pidgeon exposes email workflows to assistants via the Model Context Protocol. It allows an agent to generate new addresses, inspect entire threads, search messages, and send outbound mail. The `await_message` tool listens for incoming traffic and automatically isolates verification codes alongside confirmation links.

You can connect to the hosted endpoint at `https://pidgeon.ai/api/mcp` via OAuth or an API token, or run the local package via `npx` using `@pidgeon-ai/mcp`. Local execution demands Node.js and a valid `PIDGEON_API_KEY` credential. Without proper authentication, endpoints reject calls with HTTP status 401.

## Requirements
- Needs: Node.js (commands run via npx)
- Remote server: `https://pidgeon.ai/api/mcp`
- Environment variables: `PIDGEON_API_KEY` — keys and tokens: ask the human for the values, never commit them or put them in shared files.
