# ParseStream

Finds mentions of your brand on Reddit, X, LinkedIn, Quora and Hacker News, scores them, and drafts replies. Useful when you need to see what people are saying.

## What it does

The server gives your assistant access to ParseStream data. Ask what came up about your brand this week, which mentions look like someone comparing tools, pull one up in full, and get a draft you edit and send yourself. Posting is not part of it: no tool here publishes to Reddit, X, LinkedIn, Quora or Hacker News, and none contacts anyone.

It runs remotely, so there is nothing to install or keep running locally — you need a URL and an API key. Transport is Streamable HTTP and stateless, so no session stays alive. Keys start with `ps_live_`, are created under Brand Settings → API Keys, and are shown once. A key is tied to a single brand: the server decides whose data you get from the key itself, never from call arguments. A second brand means a second key and a second MCP entry under a different name.

The budget is 100 requests per minute per key, shared with the Mentions REST API. Every JSON-RPC call counts, `tools/list` on connect included; go over and you get a 429 with a `Retry-After` header. History covers a rolling 30-day window. In Claude, keep `-s local` — the `-s project` scope writes your key in plaintext into `.mcp.json` at the repo root, a file people usually commit, so a live key lands in git history.
