## What it does

This MCP server links your development environment to Packmind via the remote HTTP endpoint `https://app.packmind.ai/mcp`. It replaces fragmented configuration files like `CLAUDE.md` and `.cursor/rules` with a single managed catalog of team guidelines.

Architectural patterns, naming styles, and specialized prompt skills are managed in one workspace. The server feeds these verified conventions straight into the model session as code gets written.

A functioning Packmind account or a self-hosted instance on Docker Compose or Kubernetes is mandatory. Without that back end, the agent cannot pull any rules.

## Requirements
- Remote server: `https://app.packmind.ai/mcp`

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

**Platform CLI: remote server**
```bash
claude mcp add --transport http mcp-server https://app.packmind.ai/mcp
```

### Codex

**Platform CLI: remote server**
```bash
codex mcp add mcp-server --url https://app.packmind.ai/mcp
```

### Cursor

**Config file**
File `.cursor/mcp.json`:
```json
{
    "mcpServers": {
        "mcp-server": {
            "url": "https://app.packmind.ai/mcp"
        }
    }
}
```

### GitHub Copilot

**Config file**
File `.vscode/mcp.json`:
```json
{
    "servers": {
        "mcp-server": {
            "type": "http",
            "url": "https://app.packmind.ai/mcp"
        }
    }
}
```

### Gemini CLI

**Platform CLI: remote server**
```bash
gemini mcp add -t http mcp-server https://app.packmind.ai/mcp
```

## When to use it
- distribute coding guidelines across multiple AI programming assistants
- eliminate repetitive edits across `CLAUDE.md` and `.cursor/rules` files
- supply team architectural conventions directly to the agent context
- track which repositories use specific versions of project standards

## Example prompts
- Check this newly generated service against our Packmind architectural rules.
- /packmind-onboard
- Review this database migration according to our team engineering playbook.
