# OTInstaller Registry

Lets your agent search the OTInstaller catalog of OSINT tools and investigation guides. Read-only, so it works as a reference while you pick a tool.

## What it does

The server connects to `https://api.otinstaller.com/mcp` and exposes search over the OTInstaller registry: OSINT tools and investigation guides, each with consent classes. It reads only. Nothing gets installed or executed through it.

The registry itself is a separate thing. `ot` installs signed packages and runs them in a sandbox, which needs Docker or Podman. `otlite` skips Docker but stays on Linux and macOS. The MCP server carries none of those requirements, since all it does is query the catalog.

Setup in Claude is a single command and no API key. Behind a proxy or a private mirror, configure that in your environment rather than on the install line.
