## What it does

OpenSysML MCP server connects an agent to SysML v2 and KerML tooling. It supports workspace diagnostics and edits, model execution, and interactive REPL sessions.

For Claude Code, the setup registers `sysml-mcp` and launches `@openmbee/sysml-mcp` through `npx`. That means projects with restrictions on running packages through `npx` need to account for this setup. The listed platforms also include Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, Windsurf (Devin Desktop), Cline, and Zed.

## Requirements
- Needs: Node.js (commands run via npx)

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

**Platform CLI**
```bash
claude mcp add sysml-mcp -- npx -y @openmbee/sysml-mcp
```

### Codex

**Platform CLI**
```bash
codex mcp add sysml-mcp -- npx -y @openmbee/sysml-mcp
```

### Cursor

**Config file**
File `.cursor/mcp.json`:
```json
{
    "mcpServers": {
        "sysml-mcp": {
            "command": "npx",
            "args": [
                "-y",
                "@openmbee/sysml-mcp"
            ]
        }
    }
}
```

### GitHub Copilot

**Config file**
File `.vscode/mcp.json`:
```json
{
    "servers": {
        "sysml-mcp": {
            "type": "stdio",
            "command": "npx",
            "args": [
                "-y",
                "@openmbee/sysml-mcp"
            ]
        }
    }
}
```

### Gemini CLI

**Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini mcp add sysml-mcp npx -y @openmbee/sysml-mcp
```

## When to use it
- inspect diagnostics in a SysML v2 workspace
- edit a SysML v2 or KerML model through an agent
- run a model from the coding workflow
- work with a model in a REPL session

## Example prompts
- Check this SysML v2 workspace and explain the diagnostics.
- Edit this model, then run it.
- Start a REPL session for working with this KerML model.
