## What it does

OpenAccountants gives an AI access to tax materials for different jurisdictions, including topics such as tax residence and selling a company. An answer can cite the skill it used and show its status: reviewed by a licensed accountant or drafted from sources without professional review. Treat the material as general reference, not tax advice.

In Claude Code, connect to the hosted server over HTTP at `https://www.openaccountants.com/api/mcp`. A Python package, `openaccountants-mcp`, is also available for running the server yourself. Skills can be incomplete, outdated, or wrong for your circumstances, so have a qualified professional review results before filing, paying, or taking action.
