# nu:legal Deutsches Recht

## What it does

The server covers federal German law, Land law for Bayern, Brandenburg, Nordrhein-Westfalen and Sachsen, plus court decisions. Its tools resolve legal references, retrieve a provision for a chosen date, list saved versions and find decisions that cite a norm or another decision. They are read-only.

The hosted endpoint works without an API key or signup. In Claude Code, connect it with `claude mcp add --transport http recht https://recht.nulegal.eu/v1/mcp`. A local run needs Python 3.12+ and `uv`, and accesses the same corpus through a public REST API; its citation parsing is simplified. Statute texts are reading copies, not authoritative editions, so check the official gazette cited in the response before relying on the wording.
