## What it does

The nodrix MCP server links an assistant directly to an IoT backend running on your Cloudflare Workers setup. Hardware does not need a local USB tether to your laptop. Microcontrollers stream values over WebSockets or HTTPS, letting the LLM inspect current metrics from anywhere.

Inside, the server exposes 12 read tools and 16 write tools. The assistant can fetch historical telemetry series, read device states, or command connected hardware with `set_variable`. Deletion tools are omitted entirely to prevent accidental wiping of project dashboards or variables.

External access stays disabled out of the box. Until the owner turns on `mcp_enabled` in the administration panel, the `/v1/mcp` route replies with a 404 status. Hardware actuation remains locked until you also enable `mcp_write_enabled`.

## Requirements
- Remote server: `https://{host}/v1/mcp/oauth`

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Template address**
- The server address is a template: replace {…} or […] with your own values

2. **Platform CLI: remote server**
```bash
claude mcp add --transport http nodrix https://{host}/v1/mcp/oauth
```

### Codex

1. **Template address**
- The server address is a template: replace {…} or […] with your own values

2. **Platform CLI: remote server**
```bash
codex mcp add nodrix --url https://{host}/v1/mcp/oauth
```

### Cursor

1. **Template address**
- The server address is a template: replace {…} or […] with your own values

2. **Config file**
File `.cursor/mcp.json`:
```json
{
    "mcpServers": {
        "nodrix": {
            "url": "https://{host}/v1/mcp/oauth"
        }
    }
}
```

### GitHub Copilot

2. **Config file**
File `.vscode/mcp.json`:
```json
{
    "servers": {
        "nodrix": {
            "type": "http",
            "url": "https://{host}/v1/mcp/oauth"
        }
    }
}
```

### Gemini CLI

1. **Template address**
- The server address is a template: replace {…} or […] with your own values

2. **Platform CLI: remote server**
```bash
gemini mcp add -t http nodrix https://{host}/v1/mcp/oauth
```

## When to use it
- inspect live metrics reported by remote ESP32 or Arduino boards
- toggle relays and update output variables via `set_variable`
- retrieve time-series data partitions for analysis
- trigger configured automations and run integration tests

## Example prompts
- Fetch the latest temperature and humidity metrics for project `workshop`
- Use `set_variable` to switch the cooling relay to active
- List all configured automations and check which triggers fired
