# Nano Banana by Ace Data Cloud

Gives your agent image generation and editing with the Nano Banana model through the Ace Data Cloud API. Handy when a project needs pictures and you would rather stay in the chat.

## What it does

The server exposes four tools. `nanobanana_generate_image` turns a text prompt into an image, and `nanobanana_edit_image` changes existing pictures or merges several into one. `nanobanana_get_task` and `nanobanana_get_tasks_batch` report the status and result of jobs, singly or in bulk. The listed use cases include putting clothes on people in photos and placing a product into a realistic scene.

There are three ways to connect. Point a client at the hosted URL `https://nanobanana.mcp.acedata.cloud/mcp` and sign in with OAuth in the browser, use the same URL with an API token in an `Authorization: Bearer` header, or run `uvx mcp-nanobanana-pro` locally with `ACEDATACLOUD_API_TOKEN` set. Don't combine OAuth with a fixed header on one server.

Every request goes through an Ace Data Cloud account and draws on its balance. No account means the browser sign-in fails, so check the price before the first real run. Results arrive asynchronously, and you need the original task ID to look them up.

## Requirements
- Needs: Python and uv (commands run via uvx)
- Remote server: `https://nanobanana.mcp.acedata.cloud/mcp`
- Environment variables: `ACEDATACLOUD_API_TOKEN` — keys and tokens: ask the human for the values, never commit them or put them in shared files.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Platform CLI: remote server**
```bash
claude mcp add --transport http mcp-nanobanana-pro https://nanobanana.mcp.acedata.cloud/mcp
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
claude mcp add --env ACEDATACLOUD_API_TOKEN=<ACEDATACLOUD_API_TOKEN> --transport stdio nano-banana-by-ace-data-cloud -- uvx mcp-nanobanana-pro
```
Replace <…> with your own values. uvx runs the command named after the package; if the README names another one, use uvx --from mcp-nanobanana-pro <command>

### Codex

1. **Platform CLI: remote server**
```bash
codex mcp add nano-banana-by-ace-data-cloud --url https://nanobanana.mcp.acedata.cloud/mcp
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
codex mcp add nano-banana-by-ace-data-cloud --env ACEDATACLOUD_API_TOKEN=<ACEDATACLOUD_API_TOKEN> -- uvx mcp-nanobanana-pro
```
Replace <…> with your own values. uvx runs the command named after the package; if the README names another one, use uvx --from mcp-nanobanana-pro <command>

gemini mcp add -t http nano-banana-by-ace-data-cloud https://nanobanana.mcp.acedata.cloud/mcp
```
2. **Platform CLI**
gemini mcp add -e ACEDATACLOUD_API_TOKEN=<ACEDATACLOUD_API_TOKEN> nano-banana-by-ace-data-cloud uvx mcp-nanobanana-pro
```
Replace <…> with your own values. uvx runs the command named after the package; if the README names another one, use uvx --from mcp-nanobanana-pro <command>

## When to use it
- generate an image from a text description without leaving the agent chat
- merge several images into one with a prompt
- try clothing on a person from a photo
- place a product into a realistic scene
- check the status of several generation jobs at once

## Example prompts
- Generate a flat-style coffee shop logo on a light background with Nano Banana
- Use `nanobanana_edit_image` to swap the background in `hero.png` for a sunset sky
- Check the Nano Banana task with the task ID we saved earlier and tell me if the image is ready
