## What it does

Multimeter connects Claude Code to API tests kept in a Git repository as YAML `.mmt` files. The agent can create a test from an API description, check its structure, format the file, and execute it.

The MCP server exposes `scaffold_test`, `validate`, `format`, and `run`. The underlying test files can cover HTTP, WebSocket, GraphQL, and gRPC requests, along with multi-step flows and test suites. The same files can run in CI through the `testlight` CLI.

Setup relies on `npx`, so the MCP server will not start when `npx` is unavailable.

## Requirements
- Needs: Node.js (commands run via npx)

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

**Platform CLI**
```bash
claude mcp add multimeter -- npx -y mmt-mcp
```

### Codex

**Platform CLI**
```bash
codex mcp add multimeter -- npx -y mmt-mcp
```

### Cursor

**Config file**
File `.cursor/mcp.json`:
```json
{
    "mcpServers": {
        "multimeter": {
            "command": "npx",
            "args": [
                "-y",
                "mmt-mcp"
            ]
        }
    }
}
```

### GitHub Copilot

**Config file**
File `.vscode/mcp.json`:
```json
{
    "servers": {
        "multimeter": {
            "type": "stdio",
            "command": "npx",
            "args": [
                "-y",
                "mmt-mcp"
            ]
        }
    }
}
```

### Gemini CLI

**Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini mcp add multimeter npx -y mmt-mcp
```

## When to use it
- scaffold an API test from a description
- validate a `.mmt` test file
- format test definitions before a commit
- run a suite from the repository
- prepare API tests for CI

## Example prompts
- Create an API test in `tests/login.mmt` from this endpoint description, then validate it.
- Check `tests/suite.mmt`, fix its structure, and format the file.
- Run the tests in `tests/suite.mmt` and report the execution result.
