## What it does

This MCP server searches MTA:SA documentation by keywords and task descriptions, then returns API details and examples. Its tools cover function and event discovery, single or multiple documentation lookups, category browsing, and workflow recommendations. Semantic matching uses SQLite, with results kept in a local cache.

Keyword expansion can connect terms such as `database` with related `db*` APIs. The server also flags deprecated functions and exposes cache statistics and cleanup operations. Node.js uses `node:sqlite`; Bun can run it through `bun:sqlite`. Node.js 24+ is required, so an older Node runtime will prevent the server from starting.

For Claude Code, add it with `claude mcp add mtasa-docs-mcp -- npx -y mtasa-docs-mcp`. Local development uses pnpm 10+ and the project build commands. The server can also be configured for Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, and other listed MCP clients.

## Requirements
- Needs: Node.js (commands run via npx)

## Install

claude mcp add mtasa-docs-mcp -- npx -y mtasa-docs-mcp
```
### Codex
**Platform CLI**
```bash
codex mcp add mtasa-documentation-mcp-server -- npx -y mtasa-docs-mcp
```
### Cursor
**Config file**
File `.cursor/mcp.json`:
```json
{
    "mcpServers": {
        "mtasa-documentation-mcp-server": {
            "command": "npx",
            "args": [
                "-y",

            ]
        }
    }
}
```
### GitHub Copilot
            ]
        }
    }
}
```

### Gemini CLI

**Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini mcp add mtasa-documentation-mcp-server npx -y mtasa-docs-mcp
```

## When to use it
- find an MTA:SA function from a task description
- discover events for a gameplay flow
- retrieve API documentation with examples
- spot deprecated MTA:SA functions
- search the wiki without manual browsing

## Example prompts
- Find MTA:SA functions for saving player data to a database.
- Which events should handle player login and loading their settings?
- Show the documentation and an example for an MTA:SA vehicle function.
