## What it does

mobilerun is an open-source framework that hands LLM agents mobile-native tools. The agent inspects the UI tree, reads screenshots, taps, swipes, types, and plans longer sequences. You drive it from the CLI or the Python API.

Android devices connect through the Portal app and `adb`; iPhones go through `mobilerun-ios` over USB, and the iOS Simulator through the iOS Portal app. Pick from OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, xAI, Ollama, DeepSeek, OpenRouter or any OpenAI-compatible endpoint. Anthropic support ships as an optional extra at install time.

Python `>=3.11,<3.14` is required — 3.14 is not supported yet. On Android you need ADB installed plus Developer options and USB debugging switched on. Provider keys come from environment variables or the `mobilerun configure` wizard.

## Requirements
- Remote server: `https://api.mobilerun.ai/v1/mcp`

## Install

```
### Codex
**Platform CLI: remote server**
```bash
codex mcp add mobilerun --url https://api.mobilerun.ai/v1/mcp
```
### Cursor
**Config file**
File `.cursor/mcp.json`:
```json
{
    "mcpServers": {
        "mobilerun": {
            "url": "https://api.mobilerun.ai/v1/mcp"
        }
    }
}
```
### GitHub Copilot
**Config file**
File `.vscode/mcp.json`:
```json
{
    "servers": {
        "mobilerun": {
            "type": "http",
            "url": "https://api.mobilerun.ai/v1/mcp"
        }
    }
}
```
### Gemini CLI
**Platform CLI: remote server**
```bash
gemini mcp add -t http mobilerun https://api.mobilerun.ai/v1/mcp
```
## When to use it
- walk through a settings flow on a physical phone
- check which app is in the foreground from a screenshot
- find a contact and send that person an email
- record a macro and replay it later
- debug a long automation run with execution tracing
## Example prompts
- Open the settings app and switch on dark mode
- Tell me what app is currently open, use --vision
