## What it does

mixx-dj-mcp exposes Mixxx controls to an AI agent. Its tools can load tracks, play or pause decks, set cues and loops, sync tracks, search the library, adjust mixer settings, and load effects. Other tools inspect BPM, musical key, and energy, while set planning, transition handling, recording, and play history cover tasks beyond basic playback.

The package includes a FastMCP server, an OSC bridge, a REST API, and a React web app. Start it with `uv sync && uv run uvicorn mixx_dj_mcp.server:app --port 11116`. In Mixxx, enable OSC, set output to `11118`, input to `11119`, use `127.0.0.1` as the destination, and restart the app. OSC must be enabled or deck control will not work. Video mode requires the `mixxxxx` fork with FFmpeg support.

- control playback across Mixxx decks

- plan a set and apply deck transitions
- record and replay DJ sets

## Example prompts
- Load a track matching 128 BPM into deck 2, sync it with deck 1, and prepare the next cue.
- Search the Mixxx library for drum and bass tracks, then plan a set with a rising energy curve.
- Analyse `C:/Music/track.mp3`, report its BPM and key, and load it into deck 1.
