An MCP server serving first-person accounts of meditation practice. Your agent can search them, read them and cite them.

## What it does

Mettakin collects written accounts from people describing what happens when they sit and meditate. The server hands those texts to your agent, so you can pull quotes or look up a theme without leaving the editor.

Humans and AIs build the project together, and each decision is logged with its reasoning in `docs/decisions.md`. The code is AGPL-3.0, the written content CC BY-SA 4.0. Running it yourself means Podman: copy `.env.example` to `.env`, then `podman compose up`, and the app answers on `http://localhost:8000`.

You do not need any of that to use the server. It lives at `https://mettakin.com/mcp`, and Claude Code connects with `claude mcp add --transport http mettakin https://mettakin.com/mcp`.

## Requirements
- Remote server: `https://mettakin.com/mcp`

## When to use it
- find real accounts of meditation practice instead of how-to guides
- quote someone's written experience in an article
- gather a set of logs around one theme
- give an agent access to a text collection without pasting it in

## Example prompts
- Search Mettakin for accounts of a first long sit
- Read a few meditation logs and note what people say about breathing
- Pull three Mettakin quotes for a section on attention
