## What it does

\`mcp-wise` exposes Wise Platform API actions to an MCP-compatible coding agent through 21 tools. The server can inspect profiles and balances, create and retrieve FX quotes, manage payout recipients, create or fund transfers, and handle webhook subscriptions.

It runs over `stdio` with `npx`; an HTTP mode is available for server-to-server testing through `MCP_HTTP=true` and `MCP_PORT=3000`. Authentication uses the `WISE_API_TOKEN` Bearer token issued for a Wise profile. Set `WISE_ENV` to `sandbox` or `live`; `sandbox` is the default environment.

A valid `WISE_API_TOKEN` is required before the server can call Wise. Tokens belong to profiles, so each environment needs its own token.

## Requirements
- Needs: Node.js (commands run via npx)
- Environment variables: `WISE_API_TOKEN`, `WISE_ENV` — keys and tokens: ask the human for the values, never commit them or put them in shared files.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

**Platform CLI**
```bash
claude mcp add --env WISE_API_TOKEN=<WISE_API_TOKEN> --env WISE_ENV=<WISE_ENV> --transport stdio wise -- npx -y @codespar/mcp-wise
```
Replace <…> with your own values

### Codex

**Platform CLI**
```bash
codex mcp add wise --env WISE_API_TOKEN=<WISE_API_TOKEN> --env WISE_ENV=<WISE_ENV> -- npx -y @codespar/mcp-wise
```
Replace <…> with your own values

### Cursor

## When to use it
- inspect Wise profiles from an agent
- create locked-rate currency quotes
- start, fund, or cancel transfers
- manage payout recipients and balances
- subscribe to Wise webhooks

## Example prompts
- List the Wise profiles available to my token and show their IDs.
- Create a USD to EUR quote for this profile.
- Check the transfer status and cancel it when Wise still allows cancellation.
