## What it does

The server reads profile data from YAML files and makes it available to an assistant through MCP. Run `mcp-me init` to create the templates, then use `mcp-me generate` to fill them from configured sources. Most sources work without API keys.

The profile can hold details about your identity, skills, projects, career, goals, and interests. Plugins can also provide live data when the assistant requests it, including GitHub repository information and Last.fm listening activity. Profile files stay on your machine.

Node.js 20 or later is required to run the commands. You can set a different profile location with `MCP_ME_PROFILE_DIR`.

## Requirements
- Needs: Node.js (commands run via npx)
- Environment variables: `MCP_ME_PROFILE_DIR` — keys and tokens: ask the human for the values, never commit them or put them in shared files.
