## What it does

This server registers 9 tools to interface with the unified DataJud CNJ database across Brazilian courts. It includes reference codes for 92 courts covering federal and state jurisdictions. Models can retrieve case details via standard CNJ identifiers and prepare summaries of recent docket updates.

Deadline math follows CPC articles 219, 220, and 224, factoring in national holidays and judicial recess periods. Local state holidays apply only when you supply the `uf` field. Interacting with the electronic judicial domicile requires separate API credentials, and confirming subpoena delivery carries enforceable legal effects.

Running the service demands Python 3.10+ and `uvx`. The server functions out of the box using CNJ's active public key, so setting `DATAJUD_API_KEY` is only necessary when authorities rotate that credential.

## Requirements
- Needs: Python and uv (commands run via uvx)

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

**Platform CLI**
```bash
claude mcp add mcp-juridico-brasil -- uvx mcp-juridico-brasil
```
uvx runs the command named after the package; if the README names another one, use uvx --from mcp-juridico-brasil <command>

### Codex

**Platform CLI**
```bash
codex mcp add mcp-juridico-brasil -- uvx mcp-juridico-brasil
```
uvx runs the command named after the package; if the README names another one, use uvx --from mcp-juridico-brasil <command>

### Cursor

**Config file**
File `.cursor/mcp.json`:
```json
{
    "mcpServers": {
        "mcp-juridico-brasil": {
            "command": "uvx",
            "args": [
                "mcp-juridico-brasil"
            ]
        }
    }
}
```
uvx runs the command named after the package; if the README names another one, use uvx --from mcp-juridico-brasil <command>

### GitHub Copilot

**Config file**
File `.vscode/mcp.json`:
```json
{
    "servers": {
        "mcp-juridico-brasil": {
            "type": "stdio",
            "command": "uvx",
            "args": [
                "mcp-juridico-brasil"
            ]
        }
    }
}
```
uvx runs the command named after the package; if the README names another one, use uvx --from mcp-juridico-brasil <command>

### Gemini CLI

**Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini mcp add mcp-juridico-brasil uvx mcp-juridico-brasil
```
uvx runs the command named after the package; if the README names another one, use uvx --from mcp-juridico-brasil <command>

## When to use it
- retrieve court records by CNJ case number
- compute procedural deadlines in business days under Brazilian CPC rules
- track new case dockets since a specific date
- inspect electronic summons notifications from DJe

## Example prompts
- Look up case number `0000001-00.2024.5.02.0000` in DataJud
- Calculate a 15-day procedural deadline starting on `2024-03-01` for state `SP`
- Summarize recent docket updates for case `1234567-89.2023.8.26.0100`
