## What it does

The server lets an agent create Evernote notes from plain text or Markdown, read and edit existing entries, and delete them. It converts between Markdown and ENML, including local attachments. Search supports Evernote’s query syntax.

Agents can also list and create notebooks and tags, organize notebooks into stacks, and retrieve account and quota details. Claude Code handles OAuth setup through `/mcp`; other setup paths use a separate authentication step. Evernote has stopped issuing developer keys to new applicants, so new users are directed to cookie-based authentication. Check the Node.js version before installing: an unsupported runtime can prevent setup.
