# Maxio MCP

## What it does

Maxio MCP works with Maxio Advanced Billing. Its local CLI calculates metrics from a SQLite mirror, including MRR trends, retention, and per-customer history. The calculations run offline, preserving historical trends even though the live API returns point-in-time values.

The installer places `maxio-cli` and `maxio-mcp` in the user’s binary directory. Claude Code finds the skill through `SKILL.md`. Authenticate before using it, then check the CLI with `maxio-cli --version`.

Use the stdio transport. In this build, HTTP mode has no password and listens on every network interface, so starting it is unsafe even on localhost.

## Requirements
- Environment variables: `MAXIO_API_KEY`, `MAXIO_BASE_URL`, `MAXIO_PASSWORD`, `MAXIO_SITE`, `MAXIO_USERNAME` — keys and tokens: ask the human for the values, never commit them or put them in shared files.
