## What it does

Markaestro gives an MCP client tools for managing a brand’s posts and performance data. An agent can inspect posts and destinations, save drafts, schedule or edit posts, upload media, and check analytics for a brand or individual posts. Evergreen tools handle recurring content queues.

Choose the hosted HTTP server, which authorizes through a browser, or run the local `@markaestro/mcp` package over stdio. The local setup needs a Markaestro API key in `MARKAESTRO_API_KEY`. A post created without `scheduledAt` stays a draft; `publish_post` is the tool for immediate publishing, and the agent is instructed to ask the user first.

The server does not expose account settings, billing, team management, API keys, webhooks, or channel connections. It also refuses to delete published posts. Those limits matter if your workflow expects the agent to manage the whole account: those controls remain in Markaestro.

## Requirements
- Needs: Node.js (commands run via npx)
- Remote server: `https://markaestro.com/api/public/v1/mcp`
- Environment variables: `MARKAESTRO_API_KEY`, `MARKAESTRO_READ_ONLY` — keys and tokens: ask the human for the values, never commit them or put them in shared files.
