Generates secure CRUD APIs over databases, executes SQL, and exposes endpoints as MCP tools to AI agents. Useful for running self-hosted backends with role-based access control.

## What it does

Magic Cloud runs an open-source backend on top of the .NET 10 runtime and Hyperlambda directly on your hardware. You can point the API Wizard at existing PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, or MariaDB schemas to generate REST endpoints. It also turns OpenAPI and Swagger definitions into typed wrappers.

The platform includes the Hyper IDE dashboard and SQL Studio. Once you install the `mcp` plugin from the cloudlet dashboard, every HTTP endpoint in the `modules` directory becomes an MCP tool for Claude Code, Cursor, or Codex. Hyperlambda runs inside an isolated sandbox with role-based access control. It checks functions against an allowlist during execution, protecting the host filesystem.

Running the platform locally requires Docker. The backend binds to port 4444, while the dashboard serves on port 5555. Because the generator outputs an abstract syntax tree rather than plain text, the engine rejects nonexistent function calls before execution.

## Requirements
- Needs: Docker
- Environment variables: `magic_host` — keys and tokens: ask the human for the values, never commit them or put them in shared files.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

**Install**
- The MCP registry has no launch command for it: see the repository README

## When to use it
- generate secure REST APIs from existing relational database schemas
- expose backend endpoints as MCP tools for Claude Code
- wrap external OpenAPI specifications into callable endpoints
- run scheduled background jobs on self-hosted hardware

## Example prompts
- Call the Magic Cloud endpoint to update the order status in the database.
- Invoke the API tool from the `modules` directory to fetch users with the admin role.
