Connect an agent to the live Macula network to call peers’ advertised capabilities and exchange events. An echo service provides a simple connection check.

## What it does

Macula mesh links an MCP client to the Macula network. An agent can call capabilities advertised by other participants, publish messages, and watch for incoming events. Calls go directly to the provider. This connects to a real network, not a sandbox, and some features depend on having other peers there.

The server uses MCP over stdio to communicate with the agent and runs the network client through `@macula-io/ts` in the same process. To test it, ask the agent to call `mesh_call` with procedure `mcl-echo/echo` and the message `hello`; a public service returns the text. Node.js `24.18.1` or newer is required. For Claude Code, setup uses `npx`.

## Requirements
- Needs: Node.js (commands run via npx)

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

**Platform CLI**
```bash
claude mcp add macula-mcp -- npx -y @macula-io/mcp
```

### Codex

**Platform CLI**
```bash
codex mcp add macula-mesh -- npx -y @macula-io/mcp
```

### Cursor

**Config file**
File `.cursor/mcp.json`:
```json
{
    "mcpServers": {
        "macula-mesh": {
            "command": "npx",
            "args": [
                "-y",
                "@macula-io/mcp"
            ]
        }
    }
}
```

### GitHub Copilot

**Config file**
File `.vscode/mcp.json`:
```json
{
    "servers": {
        "macula-mesh": {
            "type": "stdio",
            "command": "npx",
            "args": [
                "-y",
                "@macula-io/mcp"
            ]
        }
    }
}
```

### Gemini CLI

**Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini mcp add macula-mesh npx -y @macula-io/mcp
```

## When to use it
- call a capability advertised by a network participant
- publish an event for other agents
- watch for events arriving from peers
- test the connection with an echo call

## Example prompts
- Call `mesh_call` for `mcl-echo/echo` with the message `hello`.
- Find a capability advertised by a peer and invoke it with `mesh_call`.
- Publish an event to the network with `mesh_publish`.
