## What it does

Lots of Sounds connects an agent to a sound-effects service. Its `browse_samples` tool searches a small curated collection without an API key. The agent can compare sample details, then request a temporary link to stream a selected sound. That can help when choosing a notification tone or an effect for a game.

Full-catalog search and downloads need a Lots of Sounds API key. Without one, the server can access only the sample collection. The MCP server is hosted by Lots of Sounds; the repository does not store audio files.

In Claude Code, connect with `claude mcp add --transport http lots-of-sounds https://api.lotsofsounds.com/mcp`. Full-catalog access uses the `x-api-key` header. Keep that key server-side rather than in a public repository.
