## What it does

llmwiki turns source material into Markdown pages for concepts, entities, comparisons, and overviews. Its two-stage LLM workflow first extracts concepts, then builds pages. Claims include references to source files and line ranges.

The MCP server gives an agent tools to ingest, compile, query, lint, and read the wiki. Retrieval combines semantic chunk search, BM25 reranking, and links between pages. A local viewer displays pages and sources; `llmwiki lint` checks citations.

This is not a replacement for searching fast-changing logs: llmwiki is built for material worth compiling and reviewing. Add it to Claude Code with `claude mcp add llmwiki -- npx -y llm-wiki-compiler`.

## Requirements
- Needs: Node.js (commands run via npx)

## When to use it
- compile documents and notes into a linked wiki
- find source evidence for an agent's answer
- check citations and stale pages
- give an agent context from reviewed pages

## Example prompts
- Compile the project documents into a wiki with citations to their sources.
- Search the wiki for information on this topic and cite the source pages.
