# krimto

krimto stores AI agent memory as Markdown in a Git repository you control, then makes it available across editors. It works for solo notes and shared team knowledge.

## What it does

krimto turns agent memory into plain Markdown files inside a Git repository. You can read or edit those files directly and use Git history as an audit trail. The same memory can follow a user between Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Gemini CLI, and the other supported clients.

The server has three parts: Markdown storage, a SQLite and sqlite-vec hybrid index for keyword and vector retrieval, and an API layer that applies `user`, `team`, or `org` access scopes. The most specific scope wins during recall. Team setup starts with `npx @krimto-labs/krimto team init`; notes can be inspected with `krimto notes` or `krimto ui`.

You can connect it over stdio with `npx` or use the Claude Code plugin package, which also includes skills, `/krimto-status`, and memory hooks. Running `npx @krimto-labs/krimto init` configures a supported editor and enables automatic use of the memory. Node 20+ is required to run Krimto.
