# Kortexio Memory

A hosted MCP memory server. Your agent saves notes and pulls context back in later sessions, with OAuth handling auth.

## What it does

Kortexio Memory gives an agent a place to keep notes between sessions. Three tools do the work: `memory_save` writes a note, `memory_search` finds it, `memory_get` returns the full entry. Auth runs over OAuth, so there is no API key to paste.

The server is hosted at `https://mcp.kortexio.io/{appId}/mcp`, where `{appId}` identifies your app. Codex, Cursor, GitHub Copilot and Gemini CLI all point at the same URL; only the config syntax differs. Cursor and Copilot take a JSON block, the rest take a terminal command.

For Claude the line is `claude mcp add --transport http kortexio-memory https://mcp.kortexio.io/{appId}/mcp`. A wrong `{appId}` means the server never answers, so grab yours from the Kortexio panel first. The project ships under AGPL-3.0.

## Requirements
- Remote server: `https://mcp.kortexio.io/{appId}/mcp`

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Template address**
- The server address is a template: replace {…} or […] with your own values

2. **Platform CLI: remote server**
```bash
claude mcp add --transport http memory https://mcp.kortexio.io/{appId}/mcp
```

### Codex

1. **Template address**
- The server address is a template: replace {…} or […] with your own values

2. **Platform CLI: remote server**
```bash
codex mcp add kortexio-memory --url https://mcp.kortexio.io/{appId}/mcp
```

### Cursor

1. **Template address**
- The server address is a template: replace {…} or […] with your own values

2. **Config file**
File `.cursor/mcp.json`:
```json
{
    "mcpServers": {
        "kortexio-memory": {
            "url": "https://mcp.kortexio.io/{appId}/mcp"
        }
    }
}
```

### GitHub Copilot

1. **Template address**
- The server address is a template: replace {…} or […] with your own values

2. **Config file**
File `.vscode/mcp.json`:
```json
{
    "servers": {
        "kortexio-memory": {
            "type": "http",
            "url": "https://mcp.kortexio.io/{appId}/mcp"
        }
    }
}
```

### Gemini CLI

1. **Template address**
- The server address is a template: replace {…} or […] with your own values

2. **Platform CLI: remote server**
```bash
gemini mcp add -t http kortexio-memory https://mcp.kortexio.io/{appId}/mcp
```

## When to use it
- keep a note from one session and read it in the next
- search past notes for what was decided earlier
- share context across different coding tools
- record a project decision and come back to it
- add memory to Cursor without running your own backend

## Example prompts
- Save to memory: our staging host is postgres-staging-01
- Search memory for what we decided about the auth schema
- Get the memory note about deployment
