# Komplyt Zero

A shared memory graph for coding agents across multiple editors. It retains technical decisions and reasoning so projects keep context across restarts.

## What it does

AI assistants forget technical decisions once a session ends. Komplyt Zero bridges this gap by offering a single memory graph that works across Claude Code, Cursor, and other tools. Instead of relying on raw keyword matching, it records decisions, issues, and reasoning as typed nodes. You query them by meaning later.

Search results combine semantic similarity with a decay mechanism. Knowledge that sees regular use remains near the top, while untouched notes drop in priority. Nothing gets erased. A single match also retrieves connected items along graph edges.

Running the Docker quickstart requires Docker Compose, SurrealDB, and an Ollama instance. Because the local setup runs without token checks, do not route traffic to it outside localhost without an authenticating proxy.

## Requirements
- Needs: Node.js (commands run via npx)
- Remote server: `https://kg.kompl.yt/mcp`
- Environment variables: `KG_AUTH_MODE`, `KG_DB_URL`, `KG_DB_USER`, `KG_DB_PASS`, `KG_JWT_SECRET`, `EMBEDDING_PROVIDER`, `EMBEDDING_BASE_URL`, `EMBEDDING_API_KEY` — keys and tokens: ask the human for the values, never commit them or put them in shared files.

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

1. **Platform CLI: remote server**
```bash
claude mcp add --transport http komplyt-zero https://kg.kompl.yt/mcp
```

2. **Platform CLI**
```bash
claude mcp add --env KG_AUTH_MODE=<KG_AUTH_MODE> --env KG_DB_URL=<KG_DB_URL> --env KG_DB_USER=<KG_DB_USER> --env KG_DB_PASS=<KG_DB_PASS> --env KG_JWT_SECRET=<KG_JWT_SECRET> --transport stdio src -- npx -y @komplyzen/komplyt-zero
```
Replace <…> with your own values. 3 more environment variables are in the server README

### Codex

1. **Platform CLI: remote server**
```bash
codex mcp add src --url https://kg.kompl.yt/mcp
```

2. **Platform CLI**

## When to use it
- retain architectural rationale between different agent sessions
- share project decisions across distinct editor clients
- query past technical choices by semantic meaning
- stop teams from rehashing previously settled debates

## Example prompts
- Store our decision to use Postgres for background jobs in the acme-api project with the rationale.
- Search the knowledge graph to see why we avoided Redis for queue processing.
- Start a new session in the acme-api memory graph before making changes.
