## What it does

This MCP server lets an assistant query BoardGameGeek. `bgg-search` finds games with filters for base games or expansions, while `bgg-details` can return ratings, player-count information, editions, and comments. Other tools cover user profiles and collections, the current hotness list, and forum threads.

For prices, `bgg-price` uses BGG IDs and data from BoardGamePrices.co.uk. Recommendations come from Recommend.Games. `bgg-rules` searches a game's rules forum for relevant discussions; `bgg-thread-details` retrieves a chosen thread's posts. Prices and recommendations rely on those external services.

The server also exposes resources for games, collections, hotness, and forum threads, plus prompts for game suggestions, rules questions, and sale posts. The personal collection resource appears when `BGG_USERNAME` is set, so configure that variable if you want the assistant to access your own collection.
