## What it does

This server ties product specifications to implementation files and tests. You write requirements in plain prompts. The agent builds structured scenarios, symbol links, and facts directly inside the local `.kb/` directory. Each Git branch keeps its own knowledge snapshot, avoiding cross-branch confusion.

Prolog handles the consistency checks. It flags contradictions, missing proof, and untraced code before changes get merged. JavaScript and TypeScript support works out of the box. Other languages like Python, Go, and Rust require the `kibi-plugin-treesitter` companion package.

Node.js 22+ is required. Linux and macOS run the bundled SWI-Prolog without extra tools. Native Windows setups need WSL or a separate SWI-Prolog 9.0+ install in `PATH`.

## Requirements
- Needs: Node.js (commands run via npx)

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

**Platform CLI**
```bash
claude mcp add kibi-mcp -- npx -y kibi-mcp
```

### Codex

**Platform CLI**
```bash
codex mcp add kibi-mcp -- npx -y kibi-mcp
```

### Cursor

**Config file**
File `.cursor/mcp.json`:
```json
{
    "mcpServers": {
        "kibi-mcp": {
            "command": "npx",
            "args": [
                "-y",
                "kibi-mcp"
            ]
        }
    }
}
```

### GitHub Copilot

**Config file**
File `.vscode/mcp.json`:
```json
{
    "servers": {
        "kibi-mcp": {
            "type": "stdio",
            "command": "npx",
            "args": [
                "-y",
                "kibi-mcp"
            ]
        }
    }
}
```

### Gemini CLI

**Platform CLI**
```bash
gemini mcp add kibi-mcp npx -y kibi-mcp
```

## When to use it
- Link tests and scenarios to product specifications
- Catch logical contradictions before merging code
- Maintain isolated requirement context across Git branches
- Track symbols that lack requirement ownership

## Example prompts
- Initialize the Kibi knowledge base in this repository and run doctor
- Verify current tests against requirement scenarios using kibi check
- Find which requirement owns the user authentication module
