# Kanera

Hooks your agent into Kanera workspaces so it can pick up cards, read their context and report back. Useful when team tasks already live in Kanera and you'd rather work them from chat.

## What it does

The server exposes Kanera boards and cards to an agent: it reads a task's context, takes the card, and marks progress as it goes. Cards carry checklists, comments, notes and reports, and dependencies between cards are visible too. So the agent can see what is blocked and what is ready before it starts.

The README describes an Agent Workflow template that runs from backlog through working, waiting on you, review, and done. You write the task on a card, the agent moves it as work starts or stalls, and you decide when it lands in done. Agent activity stays on the same boards as your team's, with live progress and attribution.

This is a remote server at `https://mcp.kanera.app/mcp` — nothing to run locally. Claude needs the HTTP transport, hence the `--transport http` flag. On a network that blocks outbound requests to external hosts, the connection simply won't come up, so check reachability first.

## Requirements
- Remote server: `https://mcp.kanera.app/mcp`

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

**Platform CLI: remote server**
```bash
claude mcp add --transport http mcp https://mcp.kanera.app/mcp
```

### Codex

**Platform CLI: remote server**
```bash
codex mcp add kanera --url https://mcp.kanera.app/mcp
```

### Cursor

**Config file**
File `.cursor/mcp.json`:
```json
{
    "mcpServers": {
        "kanera": {
            "url": "https://mcp.kanera.app/mcp"
        }
    }
}
```

### GitHub Copilot

**Config file**
File `.vscode/mcp.json`:
```json
{
    "servers": {
        "kanera": {
            "type": "http",
            "url": "https://mcp.kanera.app/mcp"
        }
    }
}
```

### Gemini CLI

**Platform CLI: remote server**
```bash
gemini mcp add -t http kanera https://mcp.kanera.app/mcp
```

## When to use it
- see which cards are blocked and what can start now
- hand a card to an agent and collect the result
- leave a comment or note while a task is in flight
- pull a report on completed cards
- run through a checklist before closing a task

## Example prompts
- Pick up the card “Fix report export” from the backlog and move it to working
- Show me which cards on this board are blocked right now
- Add a comment to the card with what you changed and tick off the checklist
