## What it does

The connector links your workspace directly to the Kaiva Bridge management endpoint over streamable HTTP. It furnishes tools like `create_server`, `list_my_servers`, `get_server`, and `reintrospect_server`, allowing an assistant to draft servers from schema URLs and refresh them when endpoints change. Activating write tools or publishing remain locked behind manual approval in the web console.

Beyond REST endpoints, the CLI generates servers from Postgres, MySQL, MariaDB, or SQL Server instances, alongside directories of text and PDF files. Local execution expects Node 18 or newer. A quick trial mode lets you spin up a temporary read-only endpoint without an account, constrained to 500 requests or 72 hours.

Management tokens and gateway credentials remain strictly separated; neither will work in place of the other. Sandboxed environments like cloud agents will drop connections unless you allow traffic to `api.kaiv.ai` and `registry.npmjs.org`.

## Requirements
- Remote server: `https://api.kaiv.ai/api/bridge/manage/mcp`

## Install

### Claude Code (native platform)

**Platform CLI: remote server**
```bash
claude mcp add --transport http bridge https://api.kaiv.ai/api/bridge/manage/mcp
```

### Codex

**Platform CLI: remote server**
```bash
codex mcp add kaiva-bridge --url https://api.kaiv.ai/api/bridge/manage/mcp
```

### Cursor

**Config file**
File `.cursor/mcp.json`:
```json
{
    "mcpServers": {
        "kaiva-bridge": {
            "url": "https://api.kaiv.ai/api/bridge/manage/mcp"
        }
    }
}
```

### GitHub Copilot

**Config file**
File `.vscode/mcp.json`:
```json
{
    "servers": {
        "kaiva-bridge": {
            "type": "http",
            "url": "https://api.kaiv.ai/api/bridge/manage/mcp"
        }
    }
}
```

### Gemini CLI

**Platform CLI: remote server**
```bash
gemini mcp add -t http kaiva-bridge https://api.kaiv.ai/api/bridge/manage/mcp
```

## When to use it
- draft managed MCP endpoints from OpenAPI specifications
- expose SQL databases to coding agents with read-only guards
- index document directories for conversational retrieval
- resynchronize tool definitions when upstream APIs update

## Example prompts
- Show my registered Kaiva Bridge servers.
- Draft a new MCP server from this OpenAPI schema link.
- Link the project database to Claude Code using Kaiva Bridge.
